Imposition is one of the fundamental steps in the prepress printing process. It consists of the arrangement of the printed product’s pages on the printer’s sheet, in order to obtain faster printing, simplify binding, and reduce paper waste. There are two ways paper is fed into a press for Imposition; through a sheet or a roll. Click Sheet Imposition and Roll Imposition to view how an Imposition is to be configured on either a sheet or roll.
In this section, you will learn to create and manage Sheet or Roll Imposition templates. Imposition templates are now specified for use in either file or batch imposition, allowing for more focused features. This new setting is called 'imposition scope.' An imposition template is used to efficiently place artwork on a sheet and is defined in terms of how many ‘ups’ you require. NOTE: Imposition can only be performed on PDF artwork files.
