Overview

Local agents are the traffic cops directing traffic between the customer's network and Site Flow/PrintOS. They are responsible for the communication between the user and HP Devices and Printers. There are two kinds of local agents:

  1. Embedded agent: Installed only on Indigo DFEs (Digital Front End systems). Only one embedded agent is allowed per DFE. Only certain Indigo DFEs use embedded agents.
  2. Super agent: Installed on a customer computer. Super agents are much more common, and are used for larger-volume customers. Super agents can run multiple devices.

Note: Since the majority of local agents are super agents and operated from the customer's server, the Site Flow Local Agents tab is largely informational.
