The Locations tab allows user to configure and define types of locations in order to build out the structure of the warehouse and specify where stock items are located.

In the Browse section, the list of configured locations is displayed. Click on a location displays it on the right-side panel. Also, each location has a barcode that can be found in the Barcode Sheets section. The barcode can be generated from the location structure.

In the Configure section, different location types can be added and defined in order to build out the sections of the warehouse. Types of locations can include the following: warehouse, trolley, bin, wall, shed, and more. Each location type has additional setting to be configured, as well. The user configures the settings to determine the following settings:

  • Content Allowed - Determines whether it is a location where content is placed. For example, you cannot put content onto a set of shelves. The location of the content must be on a particular shelf.
  • Immovable Location - Determines whether the location can move. For example, carts and trolleys can move around a warehouse, so they are not an immovable location.
  • Is Archive Location - Contents placed in this location are archived.
  • Prohibited Parents - Specifies which locations within which the current location cannot be contained. For example, one of the warehouse's prohibitive parent is a box because a warehouse cannot be placed inside a box.

Once locations are configured, the user can build out the location structure in the Location Structure section using the configured types of location from the Location Types section.
